Learn Spanish Pod — Spanish for Beginners, From Zero to A2 — The Language Fountain Method
The course

Maybe you've tried learning Spanish before, and it didn't stick.

Perhaps that wasn't you. Perhaps it was the method.

This course starts from zero, and it moves: a new episode every week, each one built on the one before. Twenty-nine lessons take you from your first hola to A2 — the level where you can introduce yourself and the people in your life, ask and answer everyday questions, say what you do and what you did, and follow a slow conversation about ordinary things.

Grammar is the ladder, not the obstacle.

You won't memorize rules in isolation; you'll hear them inside real conversations and come back to them, again and again, until they feel easy.

The course is organized by the CEFR levels, from A1 to A2. Its curriculum was mapped, item by item, to the Plan Curricular del Instituto Cervantes for those levels.

How a lesson works

Every lesson comes in three parts.

AThe conversation.

Carlos and María talk, in Latin American Spanish. You hear it cold, then with Jonathan translating and explaining every word, then slowly — and at the end once more, when you understand every word.

BThe grammar behind it.

What the words were doing, and why — explained and practiced. And your turn to speak.

CPractice, until it's yours.

Carlos and María prompt, you answer in the pause, they confirm. Come back as many times as you need. When every answer comes out of you before they say it, you own the lesson.

Step leads to step. Nothing is random.

How to listen

Five things that make it work.

  • Do them in order: A, then B, then C.

Don't skip C — A and B are where you find out what the lesson is; C is where it becomes yours.

  • Hear the Spanish before it's explained.

The first time through a conversation, it will be strange for twenty seconds. Let it be strange. Then it's translated, then slowed down — and by the final listen, you understand every word.

  • Say it in the pauses — out loud, if you can.

It doesn't have to be good. It has to be said.

  • Use the transcript.

Every episode has an accurate transcript with chapter markers — tap Transcript in the player. Listen with it to learn the lesson; listen again without it to test yourself. In the practice parts, look away: the transcript shows the answer.

  • Use the week.

A new episode comes out every week. A on one day, B a few days later, C when you have half an hour and a place where you can talk out loud. If you're arriving later and the lessons are already waiting — same thing. There's no prize for speed.

Who's talking

Four voices. One teacher.

  • Jonathan—your teacher. This course is how he would teach a friend. Four cats, can't cook, three spoons of sugar in his coffee.
  • Carlos—from Bogotá, Colombia. Actor and Spanish teacher. Cooks for his friends, drinks his tinto black, and is always hungry. Le gusta el chocolate con leche. Siempre.
  • María—from Mexico. Actress and Spanish teacher. Runs every morning with Coco, her dog, and reads a lot. Le gusta el chocolate oscuro — con mucho cacao y un poco de canela.
  • Sofía—María's best friend from university. The quiet one. She writes — and, in María's words, "reads more than anyone I know." Joins in Lesson 8.

The voices, music, and sound are AI-generated; every lesson is designed by a human teacher, and every transcript is the script the voices read from.
